iniBuilds has published its December 2025 scenery development update, outlining a year marked by larger projects, broader global coverage, and a definitive move to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 as its core development platform. The announcement reviews major airport releases from the past twelve months and confirms two flagship projects for 2026.

2025: Major Expansions and Flagship Airports

This year saw iniBuilds expand aggressively across multiple regions, with complex airports such as the premium London Heathrow overhaul and Manchester leading the lineup. Both sceneries were received positively and helped define the studio’s growing ambitions in the high-fidelity market.

The Enhanced Scenery range for MSFS 2024 was also extended to Dubai, Los Angeles, and JFK, each rebuilt to leverage new SDK tools and improved LOD management. In Europe, the catalogue grew further with London Gatwick Premium and Leeds Bradford v2, ensuring the portfolio reflects current real-world layouts and operational changes. Antarctica also got featured in 2025 with the release of Wolf’s Fang Runway along the Airbus 340.

Technical Advances and On-Site Research

A major development in 2025 was an increase in on-site data collection. iniBuilds worked directly with airport authorities at Providence (KPVD) and Manchester, providing the team with unprecedented access to gather details beyond what satellite imagery offers.

Experience gained from more specialised projects, such as Wolf’s Fang Runway in Antarctica, has helped the team refine its approach to texturing, optimisation, and environmental realism. These lessons have been applied across the entire portfolio, resulting in better surface detail, weathering, and immersion.

Dallas Fort Worth (KDFW) Confirmed for MSFS 2024

The headline announcement is the confirmation of Dallas Fort Worth (KDFW) Premium, described as IniBuilds’ largest scenery project so far. Development is well underway, with a focus on accurate ground layouts, terminal modelling, and extensive on-site reference materials.

iniBuilds emphasises that performance has been a core consideration from the outset. The latest optimisation workflows are being used, with internal testing in progress. No release date has been given, but the project is well advanced and due within the coming months.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport Announced

iniBuilds’ next UK release will be Liverpool John Lennon Airport (EGGP), continuing its run of Northern England airports after Manchester and Leeds. The airport’s location and operational profile are cited as key reasons for its selection.

As with previous UK projects, the studio is calling for community assistance from those with airside access or local technical knowledge to contribute reference photography and data.

Winter Sale and Looking Ahead

The iniBuilds Winter Wonderland sale is now live, offering up to 20% off a wide selection of sceneries for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This gives simmers the chance to add major new destinations to their collection at a reduced price.

Looking forward, iniBuilds describes 2025 as a turning point for its scenery team and confirms more projects—including new regions and major global hubs—are scheduled for 2026. With Dallas and Liverpool both on the release schedule, the studio shows no sign of slowing its push for high-detail, large airports in the next year.
