The developer PMDG has taken to their Facebook page to announce that their highly anticipated Boeing 737-800 for Microsoft Flight Simulator is going to be released in three days, on the 18th of December, 2025, just in time for the Christmas Break.

Accompanying the Facebook post, there is also a forum post that discloses more information on this release. The aircraft should be released sometime after 1700 UTC on Thursday. The main reason why the upgrade of the 737 took this long was that the 737 for MSFS is now considered old by the team, and many things were done differently back in 2022.

This meant that a major overhaul was needed. There is a new, improved virtual cockpit, new PBR materials and better Li-dar scans of the whole aircraft, as well as new door logic for both the passenger and freighter variants. Currently, the team is working on some clean-up work before the final release, especially exterior-wise.

The 737 for MSFS 2024 is going to cost the same as the one for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. If you already own the 2020 version of the aircraft, you are eligible for a discount. The discount is going to be the same across all products in the product line. If you want to apply the discount, you will need to purchase the aircraft from the same store as before.

Lastly, Robert Randazzo has mentioned that the 737-600 and 737-900 are going to be released next month, with the 737-700 following in February.
