Just Flight has released a new development update for its upcoming Fokker 70 and Fokker 100 Professional aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The post offers a detailed look at the project’s progress and explains the reasons behind the longer-than-expected development cycle. According to the studio, the twin-jets are now fully functional in both simulators, with beta testing well underway.
A Long Development Journey
The developer explains that the project, which originally began as artwork for FSX and P3D in 2022, entered full-scale development for MSFS in the second half of 2023. Since then, the aircraft have undergone continuous work and refinement. Following the release of the RJ Professional in 2024, the F70/F100 became the team’s primary focus.

Just Flight, a UK-based developer, is well known for producing high-quality study-level aircraft, with a portfolio in Microsoft Flight Simulator that already includes an interesting array of European-built regional jets such as the BAe 146, Avro RJ and Fokker F28 Fellowship. The F70 and F100 extend this line-up, building on the legacy of the F28 and embodying Fokker’s ultimate vision of a modern regional jet.
Just Flight acknowledges the community’s curiosity regarding the lack of recent news but stresses that progress has remained steady. “Whilst that might give the impression that development has stalled, that is far from the case,” the statement reads. The team highlights that large-scale, study-level airliner projects often take several years to complete, particularly those with deeply integrated avionics such as the Fokker 70 and 100.
Systems Nearing Completion
As of last month, both aircraft are now fully operational, with testing covering both Microsoft Flight Simulator platforms. The developer confirms that the complete sound package has been integrated this week, and that work now shifts toward finalising the automatic flight system and Flight Management System (FMS).

These systems—especially the coordination between LNAV, VNAV, and autothrottle—represent the most complex stage of the project. Just Flight notes that its coding team has been focused on ensuring the aircraft’s automatic modes perform with the same precision expected from modern airliners, a standard the team refuses to compromise.
Polish and Perfection Before Release
In keeping with its philosophy, Just Flight insists on meeting its own standards for immersion and realism before confirming any release date. “We need to maintain our usual high standards for the day one release, ensuring that we release a high-quality, realistic and immersive product,” the team explains. Each new build of the aircraft reportedly brings visible progress, with particular advances in flight automation and performance tuning.

The statement also confirms that preview videos demonstrating key features are in preparation and will be released soon, marking the beginning of the pre-release campaign.
Parallel Projects and Future Plans
While the Fokker development team continues its work, Just Flight has spent much of 2025 updating its entire back catalogue for MSFS 2024. Ten aircraft have now been adapted to the new simulator, with additional improvements for MSFS 2020. The 146 Professional v2.4 (scheduled for release later this month) will close that phase with native MSFS 2024 support.
The developer also briefly mentions progress on the A300B4 Professional, confirming that cockpit and cabin artwork are complete and that exterior modelling and systems coding are in their final stages. More information on that project is expected soon.
Closing Remarks
Just Flight concludes the update by apologising to fans for the long wait and reaffirming its commitment to quality. “It’ll be well worth the wait,” the post says. “We’ve got no doubt that these will be our best airliners yet.”

With beta testing active, major systems nearing completion, and preview media in preparation, the F70 and F100 Professional appear to be entering the final stretch of development. FSNews will continue to follow the project closely as new details emerge.
