Miltech Simulations has just published its October Dev Blog, delivering one of its most detailed development updates to date. The post outlines progress across several aircraft projects, the upcoming Xbox release of Mission Hub, and the studio’s long-term transition toward Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Marketplace Discounts and MH-60 Update
The blog opens by celebrating Miltech’s selection in the Marketplace “Top Aircraft” event, where the MH-60R/S Seahawk, Mirage 2000, and CH-47D Chinook are currently discounted on both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. The same offers are also available through the developer’s own website.
The developer confirms that Update V1.0.3 for the MH-60 is in the works, focusing on logic stability and realism improvements. Among the highlights are a redesigned APU system, refined flight-model behaviour with more natural inertia, enhanced AFCS logic, and improved high-altitude performance.
Additional features include new key-binding options, mip-map optimisation for Flight Simulator 2024, optional time-accurate INS alignment, and expanded support for pop-out gauges and manual trim. A comprehensive livery pack featuring naval, special operations, firefighting, and coast guard variants will also accompany the update. The UH-60, developed jointly with Blackbird Simulations, remains on track for a later 2026 release.

Mission Hub Nears Xbox Release
The Mission Hub platform is approaching its long-awaited Xbox release. According to the team, testing for both MSFS 2020 and 2024 is in its final phase, with a simultaneous PC/Xbox launch expected in the coming days. The next update introduces extended mission text, a distance-measuring tool, image-based mission prompts, new sling-load types such as the Bambi Bucket and Humvee, and a range of new mission objects, including fire trucks, ambulances, and fast patrol craft. A new Mission Builder App will enable players to upload, download, and share missions directly through the cloud, sending them instantly to Mission Hub.
Skyraider Enters Beta
Attention then turns to the Skyraider, now officially in beta testing. Developed in partnership with Blackbird Simulations, the aircraft is feature-complete in MSFS 2020 and fully ported to the modular 2024 framework. The team clarifies that the package covers several variants—A-1H, AD-3W, AD-4W, and AEW.1—each tied to specific liveries. Priced in the mid-$20 USD range, the release will be available on both PC and Xbox. Miltech also confirms development of period-accurate carrier assets, including the USS Intrepid, compatible with both Supercarrier Pro and Mission Hub upon release.

U-2 Spyplane Progress
The long-teased U-2 Spyplane takes a prominent place in this month’s update. First initiated in early 2023 as a passion project, it has since evolved into a testbed for several Mission Hub systems. The aircraft will include both digital (S) and analogue (R) variants for MSFS 2020 and 2024, with detailed support equipment such as pogo wheels, GPU, LOX tanks, and camera modules. Five highly detailed airbases (Groom Lake, Fairford, Akrotiri, Osan, and a fictional CIA strip) will ship at no additional cost. The cockpit and exterior models are undergoing a major visual overhaul, and while no release date has been given, Miltech confirms it is next in line after the Skyraider.

CH-53 Preview
The developer also offered a glimpse of its CH-53E/MH-53E heavy-lift helicopter project, showing highly detailed rotor-hub renders built using the new modular MSFS2024 dev kit. Further information will follow in an upcoming blog post.

Transition to MSFS 2024
Finally, Miltech addresses its long-term platform roadmap. With most users already migrated to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the studio plans to fully transition to a 2024-only development environment by 2026. Supporting both platforms has become technically and financially unsustainable, they explain, and maintaining backward compatibility limits the use of new simulation technologies. Both the Skyraider and U-2 will still release for MSFS 2020, but future aircraft—such as the CH-53 or UH-60—may become 2024-exclusive depending on market trends.
Closing Notes
The October Dev Blog highlights Miltech Simulations’ growing focus on complex system modelling, modular technology, and immersive mission ecosystems, reaffirming its position among the leading developers advancing the next generation of simulation content for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
No specific release dates have been provided for the Skyraider or U-2, though both are expected to reach the Marketplace within the coming development cycle. The MH-60 update and Mission Hub Xbox launch are due imminently.
